Who is hurt, how hurt, and whether the team's description of it should be believed by an adult.
Puka Nacua (calf) is questionable against the Raiders after sitting out Friday's practice, and Sean McVay said Nacua will test it pregame. On Sunday morning, Adam Schefter reported the Rams are optimistic he will play. Degenerates, if he is active, I am starting him against my own team.
Lamar Jackson is questionable for Sunday against the Bengals after three limited practices. On Friday he called the injury a high-ankle sprain. Jeremy Fowler's source calls him 50/50, and a decision may not come until Sunday morning. Friends, my rule was built for full or nothing, and this week brought neither.
The Patriots are likely to activate A.J. Brown off injured reserve Saturday after a limited week of practice on a high-ankle sprain, and reporters expect him to play Sunday against the Jets. Nothing is official yet. Folks, I told you to start him in Week 1, and I am telling you again.
The Eagles ruled Jalen Hurts out for Sunday against the Panthers after a follow-up ultrasound showed movement in a superficial blood clot in his calf. Tanner McKee starts. Saquon Barkley missed practice again Thursday. Friends, Wednesday's report had Hurts as a full participant with a calf, and we believed only the good half.
Saquon Barkley (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring, plus a new toe injury) missed Eagles practice again Wednesday after both sat out the London loss. Will Shipley could miss multiple weeks. Thursday's practice report is not out yet. Folks, believe the hamstring and go get Dameon Pierce before your league does.
Adam Schefter reported Wednesday morning that Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to return from a sprained left ankle for Sunday's game at Cleveland. Last week his coach said he could play without practicing. Jackson then missed three straight days of practice and was ruled out. Friends, set your lineup by the practice report.
George Kittle tore it on January 11 and had surgery three days later. He is thirty-two, he is off the PUP list, and he has a real chance to play Thursday. Friends, this is the most encouraging injury story of the season and I still would not start him.
The coach is optimistic. The sprain is reportedly low rather than high. The man has not been on a practice field since the twenty-third. Folks, I have to set a lineup on Sunday and optimism does not have a snap count.
Ricky Pearsall is done for 2026 after PCL surgery. The 49ers passed on operating in the offseason and hoped rest would hold. Camp swelling settled the argument, and Deebo Samuel is standing in the roster spot it opened.
